Even if you have thousands of subscribers and followers, if they aren’t giving to support your mission, your nonprofit could stall out. To keep your nonprofit flourishing, you need to turn your previous donors and your current followers into givers. And that can take some work. Thankfully, I have a few services that can help you communicate clearly and efficiently with your followers to boost giving.
Research Articles
With so many nonprofits and organizations across the country, it’s extremely important to stand out from the crowds. If you’re asking people to spend their time and money on your cause, honesty is critical. You need to be open and honest about what you’re doing and how you do it.
Transparency is key when it comes to giving. No one wants to give to a cause of which they are unsure. One of the ways to be transparent, especially on your website, is to include research articles. Presenting the issues your nonprofit has targeted, why these issues are important, and how they can be combated is a first step in establishing your authority in the area. And people trust those with authority, especially when they’re transparent.
Research articles can be very effective, even if they take time and resources to write. The key is finding the right balance between establishing your authority in a transparent way and not boring your readers.
Blog Content
While research articles present information in a more formal fashion, blog articles can be less formal. Combining the right number of research articles and additional content is extremely important. The balance of content will grab and hold on to the attention of your potential donors, advocates, and volunteers.
Blog articles present information and facts in a more story-like format. These articles can speak to the heart of your readers, giving them a more emotional insight into what you do. While research articles bolster your reputation as an expert, blog articles are often what stick with readers. Blogs come back to mind long after they’ve been read.
There is no such thing as having too many blog articles. You want to create as many of these as possible, so you’re in constant communication with your supporters. I typically recommend at least 3-5 blog articles a week, though this can depend on your audience. Because blogs can be shared across multiple social media platforms, the more of these you release, the more engaged your readers will become. And in the long run, this can lead to more giving.
Call to Action
One of the biggest problems organizations have when it comes to getting more donations from their supporters is that they overlook a call to action. You can have as much information on your website as possible and communicate daily, but if you’re not presenting a clear call to action, nothing will get done.
I round out my blog articles with a clear call to action, whether it’s subscribing to learn more about your agency or asking for a donation. By continually reminding readers and followers of ways they can take action, I make it easier to go from caring and concern to giving.
With my research articles and blog posts, I can help get your subscribers and followers more willing to give to your organization. Click below to learn more.
